Charles Hadcock has ‘…a compelling need to make things’. In his lecture 21^st March 2012 to students from Hull School of Art and Design , he illustrated his creative process from inspiration and exploration of materials, through to exhibiting the finished work.

Lizzie Hughes Visiting Speaker at HSAD

It was the poster that drew me in, the promise of a visiting speaker working with video and text was just too inviting. Lizzie Hughes is a professional artist; she graduated at the Slade School of Fine Art with an MFA (Master of Fine Art) in 2002. She spent five years as resident artist at the ACME Fire Station Building in London where she worked on a number of photographic and moving image works.

HSAD DMJ AT Journalism Week 2012 at Leeds Trinity

After an unsteady start, five students from Hull School of Art and Design three first year DMJ (Digital Media Journalism) and one second, and me third year IM (Interactive Media) – travelled with Jackie Goodman and Dave Windass (lecturers) to Leeds Trinity University College for the fourth and last day of Journalism Week 2012.

Trying to escape it all

I sit in the shadow of the stolen ‘Voyage’ statue. I sit by the dark water of the Humber. The evening breeze whips the water into waves that lap against the stone landing ramp. Greens and yellows fleck the water stretching out like luminescent fingers into the estuary.
